TASTING :: MAY 10, 2017
Donnhoff Estate Riesling
Bright and lively aromatics of slate, lemon and salt. A very tangy first few sips with zesty lemon are cut with stone fruit giving this wine a perfect harmony between acid and sweetness. On the finish pronounced minerals unfold into flavors of salt and crushed rock.
Rosa de Arrocal
Feral, feline, sweaty aromas precede an awkward palate with bitter flavors of weedy berry, citrus fruits and pyrazines. A scallion-like quality drives the finish on this strange, bitter rosé.
Averaen Pinot Noir
Vibrant, sharply focused scents of ripe red berries and candied flowers are complicated by suggestions of cinnamon and allspice. Lithe and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering intense raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors that deepen and spread out with air. The floral note comes back strong on the clinging, spice-laced finish.
Anarkos
It shows deep black color, black cherry and violet nuances, full body, aromas of plums, black olive and licorice. It has a little residual sugar on the finish.
Henry Earl Cabernet
Concentrated black currant and cassis, lush with ripe black cherry and pomegranate, intermingled with notes of mocha, cedar and a hint of clove.
