TASTING :: FEBRUARY 12, 2017

Colinas Del Ebro Garnacha Blancha

Dusty, leesy aromas of lime and vanilla come with hints of peach pit and white flowers. This feels juicy, lean and scouring, while lemon is key on a one-note flavor profile. A long, minerally, citric finish leaves tang and clarity.

Adras Godello

Pear, melon and stony mineral aromas share space on the nose of this Godello, which feels solid. Short stone-fruit flavors are pleasing but not overly defined, while this feel sound and round on the finish, with a hint of almondy bitterness.

Porta Regia Monastrell

Aromas of red plum and currant smell a bit sulfuric and like scrambled eggs. Hard but hollow-feeling on the palate, this Monastrell tastes gritty and peppery, with lightly bitter black-plum notes. Heat along with peppery, herbal flavors rise up on the finish.

Prima Tora

Filled with flavor notes of black and red cherries, dark spices, boysenberry, blackberry and kirsch.

Senor De Lesmos Reserva Tempranilla

Initial aromas are suggestive of turpentine and alcohol, but with time things improve. This is chunky and low on pulse; flavors of tomato, green herbs and red fruits are marginal, while the finish carries some burn and heat.
