TASTING :: MARCH 5, 2017
Alta Maria Chardonnay
Notes of vanilla, smoke and hints of sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon. Extended lees contact while in barrel imparts biscuity, doughy flavors.
Alta Maria Pinot Noir
This opens with a pungent scent of whole-cluster fermentation, that stemminess carrying through in resolutely savory flavors of kelp, tomato skin and beetroot. Beneath the initial vegetal elements, it’s refined and silky, building toward a brighter red raspberry tone and cedar mulch aromas in the end.
Trentadue La Storia Cuvee
Deeper red fruit aromas of dark cherry, blueberry and a hint of pomegranate. With more air, the wine shows more complex, yet still developing, aromas and flavors of cocoa, cinnamon, leather and black licorice.
Terradora Aglianico
Ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. The bouquet shows beautiful black cherry, wild blackberry and plum fruit with a spicy, toasted overtone. On the palate, soft and elegant; long in the mouth with notes of mature red fruits and displays the structure necessary for long aging.
Langmeil Three Gardens SMG
Aromas of lifted, fresh and bright fruit leaps out of the glass with dark cherries, Satsuma plum and blueberries dominating the aroma with subtle hints of chocolate and white pepper. The bright and juicy fruit coats the palate and is well balanced with peppery and sweet spice.
