TASTING :: DECEMBER 7, 2014

Gruet Blanc de Noir, Methode Champenois

New Mexico – $18.65

The rich and toasty character of the Blanc de Noirs is balanced and superb. Aged for two-year minimum, the palate is developed and shows rich complex flavors. The amazing berries aromas and the creamy texture play a leading role and create a great finesse. Winemaker’s Note: A fine salmon color, aggressive mousse and a lovely fruity wine with plenty of immediate charm and toasty aromas. There is also an explosive juicy flavor of raspberry.

Tenuta Gib Lambrusca 2012

Italy – $15.25

There’s a vein of sourness, astringency and thinness in the mouth followed by bright berry fruit and plump cherry. This is a light and straightforward bubbly Lambrusco that offers a good introductory view of this traditional Italian bubbly red wine.

Orin Swift Mannequin Blended California White Wine 2012

California – $21.00

Gilded in bright yellow, an alluring perfume of candied lemon, Bosc pear, wild flower, and honeydew melon incentivize the palate. Upon entry, a deliciously rich and creamy texture balances out vivid tropical fruit notes, exotic spices, and fresh pineapple that slowly emerge in a captivating way. The finish has a lively tone of acidity, which serves as an ideal foil to the crème brulee, marshmallow, and hazelnut flavors that envelope the mouth.

Milbrant Estate Malbec 2012

Washington – $20.49

Swirl this garnet-colored 2012 Malbec in your glass and you will conjure aromas of wet stone, blueberries, white pepper, dried herb, and a sudden hint of vanilla and earth. This wine has a chewy midpalate, with loads of fruit.

Ironstone Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Sierra Foothill 2011

California – $26.39

This full-bodied red has the classic Cabernet aromas and flavors that made California wine famous in the 1970s. Plenty of black cherry is shaded by black olive and hints of bell pepper, plus softly spicy tones that may come from barrel aging. It is firmly tannic and has a lingering finish.

Obsession Red Wine 2012

California – $13.69

Aromas take fold in an instant with an incredible spiciness! Cloves and nutmeg; chocolate and vanilla beans give way to flavors of blueberries, plums, chocolate and mint that swirl in your mouth of this rich, well-balanced and full wine. The finish is bold and lengthy.
