TASTING :: MAY 17, 2015

May-17,-2015

AIX Provence Rose′, ‘13

France – $19.75

A pale, bright pink robe. The nose has a lot of finesse, with aromas of red berries and yellow grapefruit. The wine has a soft, floral mouth attack with good texture and a nice, long aftertaste.

Gamble Family Sauvignon Blanc, ’13

Napa Valley – $18.20

The flavors explode with scents of lime and bright notes of tangerine, fattening up in the middle before lasting on a long, tangy line of citrus.

Fernandez Gomez Blanca, ’11

Spain – $16.10

Bright acidity that makes it an excellent wine for many seafood dishes (think chilled prawns and oysters on the half shell) as well as many cheeses and salad courses. Complemented by a medium weight mid palate and layers of floral and citrus notes.

Melee Grenache, ’12

California – $35.70

Hints of baked summer fruits, white pepper, lavender, underbrush and dry aged meats lead to an incredibly focused, yet elegant, balanced and graceful mid-palate.

El Olvidado Reserva Tempranillo, ’12

Argentina – $16.95

Ruby red color. Fresh aromatics of dried cherry and strawberry, with a medium bodied palate reminiscent of raspberries, more cherries, and spicy herbs. Finishes soft, with a touch of vanilla.

Mano Derecha Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, ’12

Argentina – $17.65

Ripe plums, chocolate, honey, and faint nutmeg make this a very interesting Cabernet. Medium to full-bodied palate has juicy fruit, fine-grained tannins and balsamic flavors in a finish mixing smoky notes and a fresh herbal touch.
